2015 ELECTIONS: Police Holds Interactive Session With Stakeholders



The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Aderanti has assured residents in the state that the forthcoming elections will be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.
Mr. Aderanti gave this assurance on Friday during a meeting with other sister security agencies, civil society groups, politicians and international election observers’ groups.

The second inter- agency consultative forum / stakeholders meeting which held at the state command was on the need for adequate security before, during and after the 2015 general elections.

All security agencies including the Army, Air force, Navy, and other Para-military agencies, like the Civil Defence Corps , SSS, Customs and other agencies like the National Orientation Agency,Civil society groups and INEC were present while the political parties were represented by the leadership of their parties .

Also , the observer groups like the British Council, the British High Commission were also present at the meeting. CP Aderanti informed the stakeholders that the police are ready and willing not only to conduct a free and fair election but the elections will be violence free.

CP Aderanti said the Lagos state police Command have no intelligence report that the elections will be marred by violence adding that the Command and other security agencies have taken steps to prevent violence.

He further stated that the Command is capable of protecting lives and property as he urged residents to go about their business without any fear .

Mr. Kayode Cornelius Aderanti is the new CP in charge of the Lagos State Police Command. Prior to his new posting he was the Commissioner in charge of the Western Ports Police Command. He had served as the Police Director of Peace Keeping Operations.

He graduated from the Department of Sociology, University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1982. As a young and vibrant man who has feeling for his people and the country at large, he realized that the only way his dreams could come through, is to be a Public Servant.

This zeal made him to join the Nigeria Police Force from the rank of cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), where he was trained at Police Staff College, Jos in 1984.
