Black Market Petrol Hits N240 Per Litre In Oyo

‎The harrowing fuel scarcity persisted Sunday in Oyo State with a litre of the product now selling for N240 in black markets while the filling stations dispensing it did so ‎at between N190 and N200.
Few major marketers and the NNPC mega stations were periodically dispensing fuel‎ at the official rate of N86.50. However, it was always a spectacle of very long queues with buyers struggling with one another to get the product bought.
At many such stations, ‘New Telegraph’ even observed very long queues with drivers not in the vehicles, but left overnight in the hope that‎ the product would be off-loaded and dispensed to them. Where it was being sold, many drivers and vehicle owners stayed overnight in order to succeed in getting the product.
Black marketers at Sabo area of Mokola and some other locations including Ojoo, continued to have a field day Sunday as they sold a five-litre keg of petrol for N1,200, amounting to N240 per litre‎. As at last week, it was N1,300 per five-litre keg, which is N260 per litre.
