'Tinsel' Season 8 Episode 1788 Recap - Aired: Wednesday 1 June 2016
Telema congratulates Bimpe on the international deal.
Bimpe says she will probably be the first black actress to win an Oscar.
Telema says not exactly.
Bimpe continues celebrating so Telema tells her not to get ahead of herself; she has to put in the work first.
Bimpe continues her celebration.
Telema says she had her doubts about Midas before but if he can provide a chauffeur driven car and such a huge deal, in such a short time, he should be the real deal.
Bimpe says she told her but Telema was too much of a sceptic.
Telema informs Bimpe about the meeting with the distributor for the movie and says she’s hopeful of the outcome.
Bimpe commends her on a job well done.
There is a knock on the door.
Shalewa comes in, calling Bimpe a big international star.
She congratulates Bimpe on the deal.
Bimpe asks how she knows.
Shalewa says she read it in ‘Tinseltown’. She opens the website on her phone and begins to read the story.
Bimpe doesn’t look happy.
Telema and Shalewa ask her what’s wrong but she pretends like all is well.
Yaya tells Richard, in a very stern voice that she's not having his baby.
Richard says she is and Yaya insists she not.
He brings out his phone and calls Philip. He tells Philip that he needs to tell him something about him and Yaya.
Yaya is on her knees, silently pleading with him.
He tells Philip that he thinks Yaya needs to go on another yoga retreat.
Philip says when she recovers fully and Richard agrees.
After he ends the call, he approaches Yaya and says they need to get started on making the baby.
Yaya is clearly irritated but she gives in.
Bimpe enters Midas’ office, complaining that she doesn't like what he keeps doing.
He asks what she's talking about and she says he already put the news about the international deal in the papers when she has nothing to show for it.
He says she has to just roll with it.
She says People think she has millions and she has nothing.
He says that reminds him, he pushes an envelope to her and says it contains 300k.
He says KDB global was impressed with her photos so they decided to pay something little right away
Bimpe is impressed but says it is not millions.
He says they will be having a press briefing with the company later and when they seat to really talk, they will push for millions.
Bimpe is back in his corner, loving the idea.
Angela and Amaka enter Brenda's office, looking very sober.
Brenda is with Kwame sitting on the sofa. She sees them and moves to her desk in fear, asking them what’s wrong.
They both yell ‘Congratulations!’ in unison.
Brenda relaxes and says they got her worried.
Amaka says they are happy she gets to keep her baby; she can’t imagine a mother losing her baby.
Amaka pops a bottle of champagne and makes a toast but Angela suddenly looks unexcited about everything.
Richard gets off Yaya and asks if it was good for her too. He warns her not to play with any pills.
He blows her a kiss then leaves.
Yaya picks her phone and calls Tessa.
She says she will need some morning after pills.
Tessa asks if Richard was there again.
Yaya ignores the question and tells her to just get the pills.
Mimi is at work. She gets a call from doctor Majaro, a woman they featured in their anthology series.
She says odyssey has no integrity.
Mimi asks why she would say that.
Dr. Majaro says clips from the interview she granted Odyssey, are on the internet in a film Academy’s website.
Mimi says they neither authorised nor have any knowledge of it.
Dr. Majaro says she will send her the link.
Mimi checks on the computer and sees the clip.
Nnenna tells her to look at the name of the poster: Odum.
Telema calls Cassius and begs him not to be offended she hadn't called.
She says she's very grateful that he has opened the door for them.
He says it’s his pleasure.
She thanks him again and he says she should forget about thanking hi,
He asks what she’s doing tonight and invites her to dinner.
She asks if he is asking her out on a date as she is only interested in a business relationship.
He says he's asking her as a friend.
She says she has to look through some contracts so she will not have the time but will let him know when she’s free.
Tessa is at Yaya's. Yaya takes the pills.
She says she can't do it anymore; she hates him and all he's doing to her, she wants him dead.
Tessa says they have to find a way to get rid of him.
Yaya says she wishes she had a gun.
Tessa says she shouldn’t say that, there are other ways.
Tessa tries to talk to her but Yaya says she’s grateful to Tessa for all she has done but she wanst to take care of her problem once and for all.
Odum comes to the office and Mimi tells him the clips have been seen and he needs to take them down.
Odum says he can't be because he submitted it as part of his film school application.
Mimi says Brenda won't find it funny.
He dares her to go and tell Brenda.
Mimi goes to tell Brenda and Brenda sends for Odum.
He comes in and Brenda attacks him.
He tries to defend it.
Brenda fires him on the spot.
St. John comes to see Amaka at the office.
He says he is there on Tsav’s behalf.
Amaka says he is wasting his time.
St John tells her that she's not fooling anyone; she did more than anyone else when he was abducted and her anger only resurfaced when she knew he was out of danger.
He begs her to give him a chance.
Bimpe is at the press briefing of KDB global.
The manager sings her praises.
It is now time for questions.
Harriet asks if Bimpe doesn't feel undeserving of the endorsement.
Bimpe asks why.
Harriet says she had done nothing worthy of note.
Midas jumps to Bimpe’s defense and says Bimpe is the hottest thing right now.
He says he just got a call from a producer in London who wants her for a role and she will travel in less than 48 hours.
Bimpe opens her mouth in shock at the big lie.
Midas sees her face then tells the reporters that he hasn't even had a chance to tell Bimpe so she is surprised.
Odum is with Nosa at Ziggy’s, complaining about all he did for Odyssey and Brenda yet she fired him.
Nosa says it's not in her nature to remember anyone’s sacrifice; she takes people, uses and discards them.
Odum says he would have testified in the court case and he’s really sorry that he didn’t.
Nosa says he can still help, they can appeal if they have new evidence.
Odum says he should just tell him what he needs and he will do it.
Yaya comes to see Tsav at Sheila’s place.
He asks how things are with her and Philip
She says things haven’t been great; she cheated on Philip.
He shouts and asks why.
She says the guy has been blackmailing her and threatening to tell Philip so she needs his help.
She looks in his eyes and says she needs him to get rid of the guy.
