Seized $15m: Patience Seeks N200m Damages

A Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed December 7, 2016 to hear the N200m fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Skye Bank Plc to challenge the freezing of four bank accounts containing $15m.

The EFCC placed a ‘No Debit Order’ on the four accounts opened in the name of four companies which were linked to a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamo-Owei Dudafa.

But Patience had sued the EFCC and Skye Bank claiming the ownership of the $15m found in the four bank accounts.

According to PUNCH, the matter came up for the first time before Justice Babs Kuewumi on Wednesday.

At the hearing, Patience’s lawyer, Mr. Granville Abibo (SAN), urged the court to restrain the EFCC from tampering with the $15m in the frozen accounts pending the determination of the suit.

He said despite being served with court processes, the EFCC was still making moves that could overreach the court.

After listening to the parties, Justice Kuewumi adjourned till December 7, 2016 for the hearing of the case.

Patience is urging the court to compel the EFCC to immediately remove the ‘No Debit Order’ placed on the four bank accounts in question.

She also wants the court to order Skye Bank to pay her damages in the sum of N200m for what she termed a violation of her right to own personal property under Section 44 of the 1999 Constitution.

Filed in support of the suit was an affidavit deposed to by one Sammie Somiari.

Somiari said it was Dudafa who helped Patience to open the four bank accounts which the EFCC froze.

According to him, Dudafa had on March 22, 2010 brought two Skye Bank officers, Demola Bolodeoku and Dipo Oshodi, to meet Patience at home to open five accounts.

He, however, claimed that after the five accounts were opened, Patience later discovered that Dudafa opened only one of the accounts in her name while the other four were opened in the names of companies belonging to Dudafa.

Footballer Killed By Three Suspected Cultists

A 27-year-old footballer, Damilola popularly known as Bebo, has been shot dead by suspected cultists.

He was attacked by three men around 7pm at a carwash near Greenland junction at Abesan Estate in Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos.

He was going to get drugs after a football match when he was shot. The police were said to have deposited his body in a morgue.

His friends and colleagues described him as calm and easy going. Until his death, he reportedly lived alone at Federal Estate following his parents and siblings relocation abroad. His grandmother, it was learnt, lives in Ota, Ogun State.

One Abayomi, who witnessed the incident said, he and Bebo played football together on Greenland Field. He said Bebo left his boots and shin guards with him to get food at a nearby canteen. No sooner had he left the field than they heard gunshots in the area.

The cultists had been in the area before to trail him, Abayomi said.

“We normally play football on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We played together yesterday in the same group. After we finished, we all went out and sat down beside the field. He pulled off his boot and went to a restaurant very close to the field. He ate rice and after eating, he said he wanted to buy drugs by the carwash close to the field. The next thing we heard was a gunshot. So everyone rushed to our side wondering what happened. But before we knew what happened, we saw Bebo already down in a pool of blood.

“Some people said they saw him with some three guys. They greeted each other but after greeting the third person, he shot him in the head at a very close range. Before they rushed him to a nearby hospital here, the Doctor refused him, they rushed him to another private hospital at the gate, the doctor also rejected him. Then they took him to the general hospital, but he gave up on the way.
“So they now returned him to the same spot where he was killed. It was a very painful thing. The bullet opened his head. You can see how everywhere is silent, nobody can come out. We normally train here. I had to call most of my friends that come from other areas not to come. But those who did not hear about the incident still came this morning and we went to the second field to train.”

He described the deceased as a friend and a brother.

“A very gentle person, he doesn’t fight. He is a very nice guy but I believe there is something fishy everyone does not know. It is obvious that what happened is on a cultist level,” he said.

It was learnt that the police invited some boys in the area for interrogation.

Mr Emeka, a regular face at the field said Bebo was always around the field since childhood. He said people generally converged on the field to smoke and chit-chat. He said though appeared gentle whenever he came around, he might be threading hard path unknown to people.

Two Minutes With God: 27th September 2016 Thursday Daily Devotionals - Cost Of Discipleship

Topic: Cost Of Discipleship

Memorise: And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:27

Read: Luke 14:25-27 (KJV)
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Bible in one year: Zephaniah 1-3, Haggai 1-2, Psalms 89:1-14
MESSAGE
Children of God are to decide wisely what they want to do with their relationship with Him. Jesus, in Luke 14:27 said;

“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”

A Cross is a symbol of responsibility, to say the least. It is a pointer to the fact that the path of discipleship is rugged and demanding. It demands a high level of determination to follow without looking back when faced with sufferings and temptations. Open Heavens 27 October 2016:- Cost of Discipleship. This is why Jesus said in Luke 9:62; “…No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

The cost of discipleship is also found in the blessed call of Jesus Christ in Matthew 11:28-39:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

It is costly to follow Jesus Christ for many reasons. Firstly, He has a yoke and whoever wants to follow Him must bear that yoke with Him. An example of this yoke is found in John 4:43 where Jesus said; “…My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” Whoever fails to share this burden with Jesus cannot be His disciple. Secondly, the one who wants to be a disciple of Christ must learn of Him, he must pattern His life Christ’s life and one major way to pattern one’s life after Jesus Christ is to be meek and lowly in heart. Philippians 2:5-8 says:

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

Beloved, you have to know that discipleship has its price, but it is highly rewarding. Jesus Christ said, “… and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”(Matthew 11:29). 27 October 2016 Open Heavens.
Prayer Point
Father, help me to pay the cost of discipleship, so that I can gain the immeasurable blessing of a genuine disciple.

Police Arrest Banker-Wife Over Botched Assassination Attempt On Her Husband In Lagos

Suspected fleeing assassins – Chigozie Nworie and Kingsley Ofotele, have been arrested in Ogun State by the Police while escaping to Anambra State with their victim’s Range Rover Jeep – a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

The two suspects and another yet to be apprehended, attacked their victim, Mr Tochukwu Onyebuchi, in his Compound at Ajah area of Lagos State using cutlass and rods before pouring acid on him, but Tochukwu survived the assassination attempt.

The Nation gathered that the suspects were hired by the victim’s banker – wife, Oluchi Onyebuchi, to eliminate her husband even as she also supplied the weapons used in the botched assassination bid to the suspects.
The Police Commissioner in Ogun State, Ahmed Iliyasu, who paraded the suspects before reporters at the Eleweran Headquarters of the Police Command, said the suspects were taken the SUV to Oluchi’s brother in Anambra as instructed by her when the Police in Ogun arrested the at Ijebu – Ode stretch of Sagamu – Benin expressway last Wednesday.

Iliyasu added that further investigation led to the arrest of Oluchi on Tuesday, this week, at Ayobo area of Lagos State, where she was found hiding in her maiden home.
“One Oluchi who is married to her husband(Tochukwu Onyebuchi) years ago, but the marriage recently has some problems which prompted the couples to separate from each other.
“The custody of their only child is being contested in court, but Oluchi has another plan. She arranged with the trio of Chigozie Smart Nworie, Kingsley Ikechukwu Ofotele and one other who is now at large to eliminate her husband.

“She arranged for the weapons – cutlass, Iron rod and acid to be used and kept somewhere in the husband’s compound in Lagos and described where the weapons were kept to the assailants.
“The suspects went there as planned, matcheted the man severally on his head and poured acid on him. It was the offensive odour that came out from the suit worn by the victim when the acid touched it that made the suspects to quickly abandon him and took away his Range Rover Jeep which the wife instructed them to take and deliver to her brother in Anambra State.
“Luck ran against them when the Policemen of Ogun State Command sighted the vehicle along Ijebu – Ode – Benin expressway and stopped it for a search.

“While searching the vehicle, blood stain was seen and the two occupants – the suspects, were unable to give satisfactory account of themselves, hence they were arrested,” Iliyasu said.
However, the 32 years old Mrs Oluchi Onyebuchi who is a staff of one of the new generation banks in Lagos, acknowledged that her three years old marriage with her husband is really passing through a stormy weather but said she had “no intention to kill him.”
Oluchi also denied renting the trio of Chigozie Smart Nworie, Kingsley Ikechukwu Ofotele and one other who is now at large to eliminate her husband.

Singer Timberlake Under Investigation For Tennessee Ballot Selfie

Pop star Justin Timberlake may have run afoul of Tennessee election law when he posted a photo of himself in a polling station on social media, authorities said on Tuesday, the latest controversy over so-called ballot selfies.

Timberlake, 35, posted the photo on Monday and said in the caption that he had travelled from Los Angeles to his hometown of Memphis to take part in early voting ahead of the November 8 election.

“Get out and VOTE! #exerciseyourrighttovote,” Timberlake said in part of the photo’s caption, which was posted on Instagram, a social media site where he has over 37 million followers.

The problem for Timberlake is that Tennessee law prohibits voters from recording or taking photographs or videos while inside a polling station.

The Shelby County, Tennessee district attorney’s office on Tuesday said it was aware of a possible violation of state election law and was reviewing the matter.

A person convicted of the violation can be sentenced to up to 30 days in jail and fined $50, the office said.

A representative for Timberlake did not respond to requests for comment, reports Reuters.

The proliferation of cellphone cameras and social media has created conflicts in states that have laws against the taking of photos inside polling booths and sharing photos of marked ballots.

The laws, which in some cases predate the social media age, are intended to prevent voter intimidation and any slowing of the voting process.

On Monday, a federal court sided with a Michigan man who said the law there that bans voters from taking pictures of their marked ballots and sharing them on social media violated his constitutional right to free speech. In response, the court halted enforcement of the law.

In Colorado, two voters filed a federal lawsuit on Monday seeking to overturn a state law there that criminalised the showing of a completed ballot to others, arguing that the ban was unconstitutional.

How Fraudsters Lured Me To Their Den – Ogun Lawmaker

A member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Honourable Harrison Adeyemi, has given a clue how fraudsters operating in the thicket of the forest of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area (LGA), Ogun State, lured him to their den.

Adeyemi representing Ogun waterside State Constituency who assisted the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 2, Mr Abdulmajid Ali, and Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command to burst the fraudsters’ den at Siun area of the LGA, on Wednesday said he was duped by the operators of the den.

Two people were arrested in connection with the den while the lawmaker is believed to be their latest victim, having lost N15,000 to them.

Narrating his ordeal in their hands, the lawmaker told reporters that he got airtime worth N1,500 through a text message from one of the fraudsters, but returned it to sender.

“They told me they are ‘Agbomola’ and they could assist me. But I ignored them. They were persistent and I decided to visit them.
“But when I got there, I discovered it was all scam. But I played along with them, they told me to drop money at each shrine point, and I had to drop N1,000 each at 15 points, they introduced to me,” he said.
According Albdumajid Ali, the fraudsters allegedly persuaded the lawmaker to bring another N40m and a lady when next he visit the site.

And when they did not see him after some weeks, they started pestering and threatened him.
Ali added that the fraudsters had been in the business for sometime before they were caught.

He said: “we have got a lot of report about them. And we decided to swoop on them, two of them were arrested and others are at large. “

World Rankings: Murray Ready To Topple Djokovic

Andy Murray insists his consistency on court is enough to overtake Novak Djokovic at the top of the rankings and finish the year as world number one The Serb currently leads the way by 2,415 points, but after a year in which he won his second Wimbledon and Olympic titles, Murray is hot on Djokovic’s heels and could take top spot before next month’s ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Should the 29-year-old win this week’s Erste Bank Open in Vienna, he will narrow the gap on 12-time major winner Djokovic by 500 points, before the game’s finest then travel to Paris next week for the final Masters 1000 event of the season.

“I was close, if not to finish number one a few years ago, around the US Open time. But to finish the year-end world number one would be my best chance,” Murray told Sky Sports.

“If you talk about getting to number one, it’s not about individual tournaments, it’s about a 12-month period and obviously you want to be consistent and get to the latter stages of as many tournaments as possible, which I’ve done the last few months and obviously I will try and do over the next few events if it’s possible.

Alcohol Worsens Snoring, Chronic Insomnia

Alcohol may be responsible for up to 10 per cent of chronic insomnia cases because it relaxes throat muscles and interferes with brain control mechanisms. According to a study “Improving Sleep: A Guide To A Good Night’s Rest”, produced by researchers at the Harvard Medical School, alcohol can worsen snoring and other nocturnal breathing problems, sometimes to a dangerous extent.

Insomnia, also known as sleeplessness, is a sleep disorder where people have trouble sleeping. They may have difficulty falling asleep, or staying asleep as long as desired.

Insomnia is typically followed by daytime sleepiness, low energy, irritability, and a depressed mood and may result in an increased risk of motor vehicle collisions, as well as problems focusing and learning.

The researchers said drinkers, “have frequent awakenings and sometimes frightening dreams” hence the admonition to abstain from alcohol, if you want a good night rest”.

Alcohol is described by the researchers as one of the ‘common enemies of sleep’. Other ‘enemies include caffeine, smoking or chewing tobacco, as well as lack of exercise’.

Many things can interfere with sleep, ranging from anxiety to an unusual work schedule. However, people who have difficulty sleeping often discover that their daily routine holds the key to night time woes.

“Alcohol may seem to be helping you to sleep, as it helps induce sleep, but overall, it is more disruptive to sleep, particularly in the second half of the night,” said researcher Irshaad Ebrahim, a medical director at The London Sleep Centre in the United Kingdom, U.K,who was not involved in this study. He added: “Alcohol also suppresses breathing and can precipitate sleep apnea,” or pauses in breathing that happen throughout the night.

On the way out, the researchers at the Harvard Medical School, urged people to cut down on caffeine or avoid it as much as possible since its effects can endure for many hours. “Caffeine withdrawal can cause headache, irritability, and extreme fatigue,” they said, adding:

“Those who can’t or don’t want to give up caffeine should avoid it after 2 p.m. or noon if they are especially caffeine-sensitive.” Similarly, they called for smoking or chewing tobacco cessation, ensuring cautious alcohol use, being physically active, while sticking to a regular sleep schedule.

The graphic footage shot in Rio de Janeiro sees a shirtless man and his friend kicking the woman in the stomach so powerfully that she's flung across the ground between them. A desperate friend runs over screaming but she is hurled to the ground and hit in the face with the weapon.

The attacker - believed to be her spurned partner - takes a running kick at the woman's head as she lies on the ground, instantly knocking her out.

Shockingly, local motorcycle taxi riders stand watching with some passersby simply ignoring the savage three-minute long attack.
According to UK Mirror ,Pablo-Luiz, 41, said:

''The girl had an argument with her boyfriend. The man was accusing her of cheating and then his friend also starts to attack the girl.''Nobody tries to help because they are too scared. Six Winless Games Are A Concern, Admits Pep

The Catalan saw his team fall to their neighbours to mark an historic personal low, but he is certain they can recover and start winning again

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola set his sights on other trophies as his team's winless run continued with a loss to rivals United.

For the first time in the Spaniard's career, his side have gone winless in six after losing 1-0 to Manchester United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

Guardiola remains upbeat over City's chances of trophies this season, with the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup still up for grabs.

"Yeah, it’s six games – not a good situation – but we are out of one competition, we have three still," he said, via the club's website.

"We are going to see. I happy with the players and we are going to try in the future."

A second-half goal from Juan Mata was all that separated the city rivals at Old Trafford.

Guardiola praised teenagers Aleix Garcia and Pablo Maffeo in particular for their performances.

He said: "Aleix was outstanding – Pablo Maffeo as well, fighting with [Marcus] Rashford and [Paul] Pogba.

"We made a good performance, so there's no regrets. We were still fighting until the last minute.

"We are a young team. Kelechi [Iheanacho] is 20, Leroy [Sane] 20, Pablo 19 - it is a good experience for them. Fernando played amazing and helped the other ones."

Man Utd Deliver When Mourinho Needs It Most

There’s nothing like victory in a local derby to cure the ills of a football club, and Manchester United’s 1-0 EFL Cup win over Manchester City on Wednesday will produce quite the sigh of relief from Jose Mourinho.

The United manager was squarely under pressure heading into the clash at Old Trafford following a 4-0 hammering on his return to Chelsea at the weekend and a negative reaction to his tactics which led to the 0-0 draw with Liverpool six days prior. Add in his self-confessed issues with his current living arrangements in Manchester, and a clash between the city’s two giants could hardly have come at a worse time.

But United got through the game unscathed, progressing to the quarter-finals thanks to Juan Mata’s 54th-minute winner. The match will not go down in the annals as one of the classic Manchester derbies, but the result might just be remembered as one of the most desperately-needed victories in Mourinho’s managerial career.

The Portuguese is far from being on the verge of the sack, but taking charge of Manchester United means putting yourself in the firing line week after week, day after day. And had United gone out of the League Cup to Pep Guardiola’s City, Mourinho’s critics would have had a field day.

It looked an entirely possible scenario during a first half low on anything approaching quality. On a very wet surface, United often struggled to simply keep their feet as attack after attack broke down almost before they had even started. While Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the worst culprit in terms of losing possession through idle passages of play, he was by no means the only guilty party.

City had issues at times too, but they looked likely to be the more capable of finding a next gear. Thankfully for United fans, it was the home team who shot out of the blocks after the break in what turned out to be the match-winning period. And while on the whole this was one of Ibrahimovic’s worst performances in memory, he was to play a key role in Mata’s winner.

In allowing Nicolas Otamendi to make an ill-timed jump on his wrong side, the Swede made space for himself and, after neat footwork encouraged Pablo Maffeo to stand off him, he flicked a pass towards Ander Herrera. While the midfielder was bundled out of the picture by a retreating City defender, Mata was on hand to fire home. It was an accurate reflection of the first nine minutes of the second half, but was probably one goal more than the game as a spectacle had deserved up to that point.

United improved slightly from there, and on another night may have been left to rue missed chances for Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and a complete airshot by Ibrahimovic, but they held on with a little to spare in the final knockings.

Never having been one for quality over quantity Mourinho will not care one iota about the lack of aesthetics attached to this victory, only that it takes his side into the quarter-finals and, temporarily at least, puts a full stop on talk of United’s demise.

The four games against Liverpool, Fenerbahce, Chelsea and City in the last nine games were expected to provide a snapshot of where United are and what they can be this season. It is fair to say they are a mixed bag at the moment, but a loss in the derby would have painted their campaign in a far more unforgiving light.

“Mourinho’s Red and White Army,” sang the United faithful as the seconds ticked down, and the manager will be delighted with how his side battled for him when he needed it most.

Tonight, Manchester belongs to United… even if Mourinho still has a fair amount of adapting to do.

Mourinho Says Sorry Again For 4-0 Defeat - Photos

The former Chelsea boss was left red-faced by his ex-charges in a one-sided defeat, and he was still trying to make up for it at the final whistle at Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho's humbling return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday has clearly left its mark on the manager, as he apologised again for the capitulation after Manchester United's League Cup victory over Manchester City.

The Special One left a special note in the pre-match programme at Old Trafford to make amends with Red Devils fans after going down heavily to Chelsea.

And after Juan Mata secured derby success, the manager was at it again on the pitch.

As the final whistle blew, Mourinho gestured '4-0' to the home faithful.

He followed that up with a bow of the head and by clasping his hands in prayers, a further act of contrition.

The ex-Real Madrid and Chelsea boss will have a further chance to make amends on Saturday, when United welcome Burnley to Old Trafford in a must-win Premier League clash.

Over 100 Women Trooped To Court, Protest Over Freezing Patience Jonathan's Bank Accounts

Women numbering over 100 on Wednesday stormed the Federal High Court in Lagos, chanting solidarity songs on the freezing order placed on the bank accounts of ex-First Lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on Sept. 22 ordered the freezing of some bank accounts belonging to Jonathan.

The Commission had said the action was due to the ongoing investigation into the alleged money laundering charge preferred against her.

Meanwhile, Jonathan in a fundamental rights suit instituted against the EFCC, is asking for a court order, directing the unfreezing of her accounts.

She is also claiming the sum of 200 million dollars against the commission as damages for allegedly infringing on her fundamental rights.

On Wednesday, women numbering over 100, who dressed in traditional attire with head gears, stormed the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos to protest the freezing order.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the placard-carrying women, chanted songs in Ijaw and English Languages.

Some of the inscriptions read: “Ijaw people are in solidarity with Jonathan”, “Unfreeze ex-President Jonathan’s wife’s account”, “We urge EFCC to abide by the rule of law”, “Women must be heard.”

Immediately after the court rose, the women trooped in their numbers toward a vehicle belonging to the EFCC, chanting solidarity songs.

Meanwhile, Justice Babs Kuewumi has fixed Dec. 7 for the hearing of the suit. (NAN)

Mata Strikes To Down Pep's Men In Derby

The former Barcelona and Bayern coach reached an unwelcome personal landmark as his compatriot scored the only goal of a tense tie at Old Trafford

Juan Mata scored the winner as Manchester United bounced back from their humiliating defeat at Chelsea with a 1-0 derby victory over Manchester City in the EFL Cup fourth round, extending their local rivals' winless run to six matches.

This was a tie between two managers in need of a reassuring win – Jose Mourinho after the embarrassment of a 4-0 defeat on his return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and Pep Guardiola amidst what is now the longest barren spell of his coaching career.

A much-changed City side started strongly but were unable to make the breakthrough, allowing United to find a way back into the match.

After finishing the first half strongly at Old Trafford, the hosts made a flying start to the second, hitting the post through Paul Pogba before Mata netted the winner.

The victory sees United into the quarter-finals and lands a satisfying blow for Mourinho and the red half of Manchester on Guardiola and outgoing EFL Cup champions City.

Guardiola made nine changes to the side that drew at home to Southampton on Sunday and it was Kelechi Iheanacho – in for Sergio Aguero – who got the first sight of goal in the second minute.

The Nigerian striker headed over from close range after getting on the end of an inviting Jesus Navas cross, and City continued to probe a United defence that lacked the injured Eric Bailly, seeing claims for a penalty waved away when the legs of Aleix Garcia and Michael Carrick tangled in the box.

Claudio Bravo's well-publicised lapses in recent matches may have given Willy Caballero hope that he could unseat the City number one with a strong performance at Old Trafford, but neither he nor David De Gea in the opposite net were given too much to do in a first half that ended without either side having registered a shot on target.

City looked the more likely to break the deadlock for much of the opening period, but it was United who finished the stronger, although Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent a promising free-kick straight into the wall before having another effort from the edge of the box deflected over.

Vincent Kompany, who only returned from long-term injury at the weekend, did not emerge for the second half – replaced by Aleksandar Kolarov – and it took United just a few minutes to find a gap in the adjusted City back line.

Played through on goal by Ibrahimovic, Pogba's strike was brilliantly tipped onto the left-hand post by an alert Caballero.

United had their tails up and got the goal their early second-half pressure merited in the 54th minute, when Ibrahimovic's squared pass was side-footed home by Mata – the goal allowed to stand despite a coming together between Ander Herrera and Fernando in the box.

City continued to struggle to carve out clear-cut opportunities and United came close to a second when Ibrahimovic just failed to connect with a well-placed Marcus Rashford cross.

The late introduction of Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling failed to reap any reward for Guardiola, who cut a frustrated figure on the touchline as hope of an equaliser faded.

Majid Michel Exposes Pastors Who Make Money From Members

Nollywood actor, Majid Michel has become a new person since he found his faith back as a Christian. We have heard a lot of stories about him and now he is trying to help as many people as he can to be better people with his inspirational messages.

This time, he is talking about why he went to church while growing up and the competition among pastors “The only reason i went to church when I was growing up, I did so only because it was the respectable thing to do. My motivation for attending was for the sake of my family's reputation. Actually, I visited many churches around and met many ministers. Among the ministers, I don't remember ever meeting one that I felt was in his position because God had chosen him to minister to the people.”

He talked about the success of pastors “…The success of a pastor was measured in how big a car he drove and the quality of the clothes he wore. Most pastors competed against one another to build the biggest and the most prestigious or famous church. I also learned that a tremendous number of preachers were involved in improper sexual relationships. They had extra- marital affairs, committed adultery with members of their congregations, and had plenty of “girl friends” when they traveled to church conventions. Many of them exploited their people. The word among preachers was, “Make them give, make them honor you.”

He concluded with “There was no mention of Jesus Christ, no mention of the need to reach and help the drug addicts, the alcoholic, no mention of mothers living in a two-by-four flat with five, six, or seven children in a one or two bedroom without a husband. No mention of how the church can become relevant to this situation. Even taking in new members was another money game. Most pastors, when they saw a new person coming to join their church, saw nothing but money signs. They did not see a soul that was thirsting to know God. All I saw in the ministry was phonies, hypocrites, actors, and money-grabbers who were in the business solely for what they could get out of it and who were not the least bit interested in the souls of men!”
