Nollywood veteran actor , Jide Kosoko has reacted to suggestions that he be investigated over the death of his third wife and fellow actress, Henrietta,

This follows insinuations that the actor, who has lost three wives, used them for rituals as many believe losing three wives is no coincidence.

The actor told the Punch,
“Henrietta lived with me for over 20 years. I never expected or prayed that she would die. It saddens my heart when I hear people saying all sorts of things about her death. We all come to this world at one point in time and
our exit will happen one day whether we like it or not.

“God is the giver of life. He gives it and takes it when He likes. I wish I could stop Henrietta from dying. I believe she died at God’s appointed time for her. If it is my turn tomorrow, I will not exceed that day. It is in whose place to say that someone’s death is not natural? I leave them to their belief. I leave them to God.”

“Honestly I don’t know how I have been coping. I don’t know if I should tell you I have been fine or otherwise. I can only say God has been my rock till this moment. The truth is that I am yet to come to terms with the reality that she is no more. I don’t want to believe that she is gone. So many things have been coming up since she passed away and I know things will continue like that for some time.
“She died of complications arising from diabetes,” he said

First son of late actress, Henrietta Kosoko, Taiwo Olowu, who is known as LT in music circles told Sunday Scoop, that he did not release his latest single, Mama, because he wanted to capitalise on his mum’s demise to promote the song.

“I did something to celebrate mothers. The song is a celebration of life and death.

I didn’t do this song to advance my career, it is to express myself. We all have different ways of mourning. I am not using her death to sell my music. I have been an artiste before now and my late mum was supportive of my career before she died,’’ he said.

Twenty-seven-year-old LT started music is 2009 and released his first single, Se Jeje, in 2013. He is one of the twin boys late Henrietta had before she got married to actor, Jide Kosoko. His twin brother, Kehinde, is also a music producer.

When asked about Jide Kosoko and the attendant drama that followed the burial of his late mum, LT said the relationship between the two is not his business. “The relationship between my late mum and Jide Kosoko is not my business. Therefore, my opinion does not matter.” He went on to reveal that he is not close to Jide Kosoko but the veteran actor supports him in the best way he could. ‘He is doing what he can. We are not that close but he is playing his role.”

Taiwo who grew up in the Mushin and Bariga areas of Lagos, said he still misses his mother and her smile.

Nollywood icon, Prince Jide Kosoko has penned a touching tribute to his late wife, Henrietta Kosoko, who died last week and was buried over the weekend in her hometown.

Jide Kosoko who was deeply moved by the tragedy that befell him; making a total of three wives that have been taken away from him by the cold hands of death, wrote:

“I find it disheartening that my treasured wife passed away at R-Jolad hospital. It was a terrible shock because the sickness was so brief and never looked like a terminal one.

“My darling Henrietta was not only a wonderful wife and mother but she was my meticulous partner in my profession as well as housekeeper and homemaker. She was a cheerful, friendly person and made many warm friends.

“Rita seldom, if ever criticised any person. Instead, she preferred to refer to their good qualities. My wife was the soul of honesty. She would never shade the truth no matter what the consequences.

“It is difficult for me to estimate Rita. She departs this sinful word with a substantial proportion of me. We did not only fall in love but also built our relationship and were also fond of ourselves till death.

“She inspired me in ways I cannot explain. I have lost a worthy helpmate but I have nothing but happy memories of her in this world.

“Adieu Henrietta Kosoko. I sorrow now for my beloved wife but the burden has been lessened by the many kindness shown my family and me.”

The drama that kick started last week after 53 year old Nollywood Icon, Mrs Henrietta Kosoko passed away is still on.

Her burial initially scheduled to hold in Lagos was cancelled as the family of the deceased demanded for her corpse.

However when the family of the deceased came for her corpse, they delivered a message to the actor to stay away from his late wife’s relatives in order to avoid trouble.

The actor reportedly yielded to their order and stayed back in Lagos. About 6 Nollywood stars he sent to Abraka to represent him were sent back.

A source close to the veteran actor told YMG said Henrietta’s family members didn’t do the right thing. “If you want him to pay dowry, why not have him pay it now with interest so he can give the mother of his children a befitting burial. This culture is out of it” – the source added.
This is why there are no photos from the burial.

Everybody that came from Lagos with the exception of close family members were not permitted to witness Henrietta’s final burial.

Still in pains and shock, Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has announced the burial plans for his late wife, Henrietta Kosoko, who died at a hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun state on Monday June 6th, after a prolonged battle with Diabetes.

Late Mrs. Kosoko would be laid to rest on Friday June 10th, this was announced by Jide Kosoko in a statement he released today.

It reads, "With heavy heart, I hereby officially announce the death of my wife, Henrietta kosoko. It happened at about 10:30 am on Monday 6th of June, 2016 at Al-jolad hospital. There will be a christian wake -keep and artiste performances on Thursday 9th of June , 2016 from 4 pm to 9 pm. At Ltv 8, Agidingbi ikeja. The Burial service at the Catholic Church, and interment follows at Atan cementry for Friday 10th of June 2016"

Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, says the movie industry could be a huge source of revenue if it was well funded, urging the Federal Government to continue to support the industry.

The ‘Secret Room’ actor in a recent chat with newsmen in Lagos described Nollywood as an industry with lots of potentials.

According to him, “The industry is capable of generating millions of naira in revenue if well-funded.

“The industry has lots of prospects and potential that can be used to boost revenue.

“The opportunities in the industry can fetch government huge revenues,” Kosoko noted, recalling the statement made by Carlos Lopez, the executive secretary of the UN’s Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), in January 2016, that ‘Nollywood will overtake India’s Bollywood in earnings and expand to become more African and less Nigerian.”
