It would be recalled that Oliseh resigned in February barely six months on his job giving reasons that his leaving was because of the unpaid salaries and poor working conditions. Adding that some players like Mikel Obi, Vincent Enyeama and Victor Moses did not make his stay easy at all.

Speaking about his near death experience he said, “One day whilst coaching the Super Eagles in Abuja stadium prior to the Burkina Faso game, all of a sudden I felt dizziness, light headedness, headache and could barely stand. I managed to finish the session before calling on the doctor into my room who was clueless to what was happening.

“From then on it was sleepless nights, loss of appetite, high blood pressure and before I knew it I started losing weight. After several visits to doctors abroad nothing was found though the doctors found anomalies they couldn’t pin point the actual illness to.

“For weeks I was bed ridden, lost 7 kilos and could barely walk 5 metres without sitting down. My family was petrified and all feared the worst. One thing was for sure though: had I not taking that evening flight to Germany when I did, there was a strong possibility of a far worse outcome. Thank God for his mercies.”

Former Super Eagles Head Coach, Sunday Oliseh, is under severe attack over his comments on social media shortly after Real Madrid defeated Atletico to clinch the UEFA Champions League trophy. Many Nigerians are apparently not happy with Oliseh because his comment which was a congratulatory message on Twitter to Real Coach Zinadine Zidane was contrary to his actions. Oliseh stated that Zidane used to advise him about positive thinking being the ultimate in football and in life. His followers then told him he forgot this advice as the coach of Super Eagles.

The followers who are obviously still angry with Oliseh over his shock exit from Eagles argued that if he remembered the advice, he wouldn’t have made allegations about witches affecting his performance while serving the country as the head coach.

Oliseh and Zidane were together at Juventus and so the former Nigerian international had tweeted: “Congrats to Zidane for a lightning return to the top of world football. As he used to insist to me at Juventus: Positive thinking is everything.”

One of his followers, Deyinka with the handle @Nat_Ade tweeted “Sebi na the same European coaching license una get but witch no let you see road.” Another follower, Webb of life with handle @rotimark said: “He wouldn’t be there at the top if he said everyone around him as witches out to harm him. That is positive thinking.”

For Obinna with Twitter handle @vkhtor, …”That guy (Oliseh) destroyed our AFCON 2017 hopes even before the Egypt ties. He was only after the money.” Chikezie Dozie with the handle @chikeziedozie said: “Guy, go siddon, we’ve seen how much of a positive thinker you became…”

Yemi tweeted with the handle @rickeyyyyyy that: “Maybe you should have remembered that when you were given the opportunity to make a difference.” Opeayo Fadeyi however advised the former Eagles skipper to work more on his temperament.

With the handle@1opeayo, Opeayo tweeted: “Sir, learn from Zidane, you’ve got the technical ability but you must work on your temperament.” Charles N. Onyekaba with the handle @amoroka :“Yet you still had negative thinking and you chose to run away.”

After over 50 hot comments in reaction to his tweet, Oliseh took time to reply one of the early respondents, Deyinka. He tweeted: “Common guys, I am truly sorry for resigning as coach of Nigeria but three months after, I have moved on, join me instead of being bitter.” Okogba Emmanuel appreciated the coach with his reply and tweeted: “I guess Oliseh has a point. Very mature reply.”
