Pope Francis was mobbed by a group of overexcited nuns during his visit to Naples Cathedral, Italy.
During his one-day visit to Naples, the Argentine pontiff visited the cathedral to visit priests and religious leaders where he was almost knocked off his feet by the group of nuns. Those nuns usually only greet visitors from outside their convents but this time were allowed to attend the Pope’s speech and even broke forward to give him a gift.
Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe was forced to intervene over the microphone and urge restraint, he said: “Sisters… Later… well would you look at that. And these are the cloistered ones. Just imagine the non-cloistered ones. They are going to eat him! Sisters, sisters!” As the Pope toured some of the Naples s poorest areas, where the mafia reign, hundred of thousands gathered in the streets to welcome him.
