Department of State Services (DSS) yesterday paraded one Idris Umar for allegedly kidnapping an eight-year old boy, Abdul’azeez Abubakar, of Arkilla area of Sokoto. The Sokoto State Director of DSS, Mr Tijjani Kaffa, who was represented by the Assistant Director, Security Services, Mr Francis Okpo, said kidnappers released the victim after his father, Alhaji Abubakar, paid N300,000 ransom.
Kaffa said the victim was kidnapped on August 14 at Arkilla area and taken to Minanata area of Sokoto South Local Government Area by Umar and Mu’azu Hassan, where he was kept hostage. According to him, adequate security measures have been taken to arrest Umar’s accomplice, Hassan, who is still at larger.
