Pique by the electrocution of UniLag student, Miss Oluchi Anakwe in Lagos, Hon. Dame Nkechi Omeje-Ogbu of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Friday cautioned landlords not to build near or under high tension cables.
Omeje, who is the House Committee Chairman on Gender Affairs, gave the advice on the floor of the House, Thursday while supporting a motion on adjournment.
The law maker, who represents Nsukka West Constituency, said that to avert a repeat of similar occurrence in future, for no reason should anybody build under high tension wires.
Omeje also spoke scathingly about street trading in Nigeria especially as it concerns Enugu State saying that the dangers inherent in hawking is enormous and should not be embarked on.
