Gigi Hadid, 20, graces the cover of the November issue of Elle Canada and, frankly, she’s never looked better. Rocking a crop top which perfectly shows off her toned tummy (as well as tight white pants to accentuate those mile-long legs inside the mag), Gigi got all the revenge she could have wanted on body shame-attackers, whom Gigi completely slammed on social media just days prior. Get it, girl!
Talk about self branding! For her cover outfit, Gigi, who is currently dating Joe Jonas, wore a white crop top, with cutout letters spelling out, “#GIGI.”
Inside the mag’s pages, Gigi’s message is just as prominent and self-loving. “I came into fashion at a time when the industry was ready for my look,” she told the mag, speaking of her non-conventional model body (yes, we know, if her body is non-conventional what hope is there for the rest of us?). “I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe in timing,” she added.
That message is very much in keeping with what Gigi had to say on her Instagram on Sept. 28, responding to criticisms of her curvy figure. “I don’t have the same body type as the other models in shows,” she wrote. “No, I don’t think I’m the best at any given show. Yes, I want to have a unique walk but I also know I have to improve… You can make up all the reasons you think I am where I am, but really, I’m a hard worker that’s confident in myself, one that came at a time where the fashion industry was ready for a change. I’m just doing my job.” Check out her entire post below.
So very inspiring! What do you think of Gigi’s cover look? Was it a perfect way to slam the haters?
