Former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva Thursday stated that the support of the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to the present governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson is not a threat to his ambition to return to the state Government House.
Sylva, one of the of the 19 aspirants contesting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Bayelsa State, stated this in Abuja after his screening by the screening committee.
The former governor, who spoke to journalists, described former President Jonathan as ‘President of Bayelsa’ for opening to canvass support for Governor Dickson.
It would be recalled that President Jonathan and his wife, Patient Jonathan were among the Peoples Democratic Party chieftains who were at the declaration rally of governor Dickson.
Asked if he was worried with Jonathan’s support for Governor Dickson, Sylva said, “Well, frankly I am not worried. I always say that the former President was the President of Bayelsa State and he has proven me right. He has always been President of Bayelsa State, He was never President of Nigerian”.
