A mother did the unthinkable, she killed her newborn baby girl minutes after giving birth to the child. Jennifer Berry tossed her child out a seventh-floor apartment window. So disgusting.
Bronx mother, Jennifer Berry, 33, was taken into custody Sept. 28, after a neighbor came upon a gruesome scene in their apartment’s courtyard in New York City. She was arrested for allegedly killing her newborn baby girl by throwing her out an apartment window. The worst part? The innocent baby’s umbillical cord was still attached. So heartbreaking.
Jennifer is charged with murder after her infant daughter was found lifeless on the pavement below her apartment window. The child had just been born and only lived for a few minutes before she was killed, according to the New York Police Department.
“The devil was in her eyes,” said Kenneth Bolton, 29, to NY Daily News, who watched Jennifer get escorted out by police. “It was more like (she was) not human. She was deranged, like she was lost. You know, when someone has a look in their eyes like they don’t know where they are?”
Another shocking part of this case, Jennifer was once an employee for Child Protective Services. She was a child welfare caseworker for six months, between 2007 and 2008. She was charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter after an autopsy determined the death was a homicide caused by multiple blunt-force trauma. Jennifer originally told authorities she delivered her daughter in the shower and claimed the newborn wasn’t breathing. After examination of the baby, it was revealed that was untrue. The child was born healthy at 8lbs and had air in her lungs at the time of death. So awful.
Jennifer was remanded without bail and will appear in court Oct. 5.
