Indications emerged yesterday that the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, may have died in a Lagos hospital of unknown causes.
The monarch was reportedly indisposed and hospitalised in Lagos.
Rumours filtered around Warri that the monarch had passed on although it could not be official confirmed.
Contacted in Warri over the circulating rumour of the passage of the first class monarch, his younger brother, Yemi Emiko, dismissed the report.
He said he was not aware of such a development.
He said even if the monarch had passed on, the appropriate authority, Itsekiri elders, would make it public.
