Fans were eager to sound the New Couple Alert after seeing Zayn Malik, 22, and Rita Ora, 24, together out on a dinner date. Rita swore she and Zayn could never be an item, but did she change her mind? DGossip247 has learned the details of what went down when these pop superstars got together.
Rita and Zayn met up at the Koi Restaurant in West Hollywood on Sept. 9, but the two remained very professional. They didn’t get too close to each other and weren’t even photographed in the same frame. While some fans may have hoped this was the start of a hot new romance, Zayn and Rita met to talk business!
“A major part of dinner was to talk about working together,” a source tells DGossip247. “She wants him to come on The X Factor and he is all for it.” Wow! Rita is a judge on the UK version of The X Factor, the same program that launched the careers of Zayn and the rest of his former band mates in One Direction!
As for romance, it’s a no go. Sorry, Zayn. The former 1D member has a crush on Rita, and would date her “in a heartbeat,” but Rita just doesn’t feel that way about him. While speaking with Captial FM, Rita admitted that she thought Zayn was “gorgeous,” but the two of them dating? “That can’t happen,” she said. Rita had similar feelings about Chris Brown. Though the two had amazing chemistry during their Jimmy Kimmel Liveappearance, she considers Breezy a good friend.
While Zayn and Rita may not start dating, they can still work together. While at Koi, Rita and Zayn also “talked about doing music with each other,” the insider tells DGossip247, adding that these two really “want to get into the studio with each other.” Cool! Maybe Rita will guest on Zayn’s first solo record?
