All’s well that ends well — for now at least! Whatever beef Selena Gomez, 23, and Demi Lovato, 23, had going on, it’s totally over. The “Good For You” singer revealed their BFF status is now better than ever, and Demi’s like “family” to Selena!
The pair, both Disney alumni, hadn’t been seen together at a public event since February 2014. However, their relationship seems to be completely solid now. “We went to a dinner, I think it was two weeks ago,” Selena told ET about reconnecting with Demi. “We were at the dinner, we were talking about her record, my record, just kind of catching up.”
Clearly whatever was said during that dinner had a profound affect on Selena, who counts Demi as a member of her family. “I love her. She’s like family at this point,” she continued. “It’s just nice to be able to see people that you grew up with succeed.”
Demi even posted a sweet pic alongside her pal on Instagram as they clowned around with funny faces. “Look at how #coolforthesummer we are.. Friends for years, #sameoldlove.” Demi captioned the Sept. 10 photo.
During the revealing interview, Selena also told ET that she relies on her girlfriends to keep her in check and very much believes in sisterly love.
“Surround yourself with the greatest girls,” Selena divulged. “I learn from my friends, I grow from them, they encourage me. I want the friends that will call me out. Any situation you’re in, if you’re with the right group of people, that’s all that matters.”
It seems like Selena has done a lot of growing up, and with her new album, Revival, imminent, she is set for a big year in her career.
