Nigeria’s Isaac Success floored the duo of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as he was rated the best striker so far in the three-week old 2015/2016 season in La Liga.
Statistics websites CIES Football Observatory and Opta Stats in conjunction with Yahoo Sports rated each player in the Spanish top division and revealed that the Granada forward is the best striker this season so far.
The report says, “Each player who completes more than 60 minutes for his team is given a mark based on “rigour” (that’s hard work and tackling), “recovery”, “distribution”, “take-on”, “chances created” and “goals scored” to get an overall mark out of 100.”
The Nigerian scored 100 points over 100 based on the criteria. The former Golden Eaglets player was on target for Granada in their victory over Getafe before the international break.
Roberto Soldado of Villarreal came second with 97.7 points.
Barcelona’s Thomas Vermaelen also scored 100 points to emerge best central defender while João Cancelo of Valencia scored the same number of points to become the best full back so far.
Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos is the best defensive midfielder while his teammate, James Rodríguez, is adjudged the best offensive midfielder so far.
