After a lacklustre the goalless draw Nigeria recorded against Tanzania on Saturday in Dar es Salaam, the Super Eagles have vowed to bounce back stronger in subsequent Africa Nations Cup qualifier games. Stand-in captain, Ahmed Musa, said the goalless draw was not a bad result since many of the players were new to the team.
“We gave our best to win the match but somehow that did not happen but I am very hopeful that we are going to do better and win other games,” he said. Defender Kenneth Omeruo said it was too early to talk about winning or losing a ticket after only second round of matches.
“This is a new team and also a new coach. We are going to work hard to win the ticket to the next AFCON,” he said. Emmanuel Emenike also stated that picking four points from two games was not bad for the Eagles “The draw against Tanzania will make us to go all out in the remaining games.
I am optimistic of our chances of making it to the Nations Cup in Gabon,” the striker said. Head Coach, Sunday Oliseh, was full of praises for his players despite the draw recorded on Saturday. “It was not easy and we expected that. I am okay with the draw and I am also positive that the team will be better in other games,” Oliseh said.
