Victoria Beckham fashion show slammed skeleton models at NYFW

Things seemed to go great at Victoria Beckham’s NYFW show on Sept. 13, but even though fans were loving the looks debuted on the runway, many critics weren’t happy with the models that were featured. Check out some tweets slamming Posh Spice for using too-skinny runway models!

Victoria Beckham, 41, has gotten criticized for being ‘too skinny’ for years, and now, the models at her New York Fashion Week show are hearing the same thing. Critics took to social media after the Sept. 13 fashion show and slammed David Beckham’s wife for featuring what one user referred to as ‘skeleton models’ in her show. Yiiikes!
We thought Victoria’s collection looked incredible on the runway, but unfortunately, many were paying more attention to the models wearing the looks than they were to the actual clothes. This led to a barrage of tweets criticizing the 41-year-old for allegedly doing something she promised she never would — using ‘unhealthily thin’ models in her show.

Back in 2010, Victoria reportedly banned 12 models from her NFYW show for being “too skinny.” Instead, she opted to have her ensembles only modeled by “healthy girls who look ‘realistic’ to encourage a positive image to impressionable teens,” which meant any size zeros were allegedly off limits.

Once people started taking notice of this apparent hypocrisy in the 2015 show, Twitter blew up with critics slamming the fashion designer. Many were concerned about the impression the models in Victoria’s show would leave on their young daughters, while others urged the catwalkers to eat something. Yikes, don’t people know that this is also a form of body shaming?!
