Jennifer Lopez left covered in blood and with a busted nose while filming in New York City

J-Lo's shoot for Shades of Blue took a painful-looking turn as her character ended up bleeding in the street

Jennifer Lopez was spotted with blood trickling from her nose as she worked on her new series in New York City.

Thankfully, it seems to have been part of the shoot as the star continues filming Shades of Blue in the Big Apple alongside co-star Ray Liotta.

It's not clear exactly what will cause in the injury when the police drama hits screens in the US, but usually glamorous J-Lo looked a world away from her glitzy, red carpet self.

Here, she was spotted in an buttoned shirt open to her chest, a black leather jacket and had scrapes over her face.

As well as bleeding from her nose, the makeup department did wonders as the star sported a painful looking mark on her forehead and a cut under her eye during street scenes with Ray.

Jennifer has been working hard on her new role, and her character's sense of style has meant she's been almost unrecognisable on set.

It's certainly a far cry from her less-is-more live wardrobe, and last month she didn't disappoint as she wowed the crowd at the iHeartRadio Festival in a sexy, strappy bodysuit which showed off her derriere.

The 46-year-old stunner put in an energetic performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas as she writhed around the stage in the outfit.

Despite her on-stage confidence, J-Lo recently admitted she is "very insecure" about her vocals after being blasted by critics over the years.

She told Ross King on Good Morning Britain: "I'm very insecure about my voice. After being told for so many years that you're not as good as this person or that person, it beats away on your insecurities."
