Kim Kardashian's ex Kris Humphries joins family and friends tweeting support to Lamar Odom

The NBA player urged his followers to pray for his former brother-in-law while he remains in a critical condition

Kris Humphries has tweeted support to Lamar Odom - calling on his followers to pray for his well-being.

The NBA player was once married to Kim Kardashian and enjoyed a brief stint as Lamar's brother-in-law during that period.

It seems that the two athletes still carry a bond from their time as relatives as Kris offered his support on Twitter.

He wrote: "Everyone please pray for @RealLamarOdom to make it through this. Great player, even better person!"

Kris' kind words come after he fell out of favour with the Kardashian klan following his hateful response to Caitlyn Jenner's transition in April .

After Caitlyn - then known as Bruce - revealed she would be transitioning into life as a woman, Kris tweeted: "Man, I'm glad I got out when I did. #Gottadoyou."

The Washington Wizards player quickly backtracked on his words, later saying that he 'sincerely apologises' for how it came across.

Kris is the latest person to tweet support for Lamar as his friends and family pray for him to get better.

The list includes the likes of Kelly Osbourne , Real Housewives star Bethenny Frankel and basketball sensation Earvin 'Magic' Johnson.

Kelly tweeted: "Praying for @RealLamarOdom the power of prayer is stronger than you or I can understand!"

While reality star Bethenny said: "This @RealLamarOdom tragedy has me feeling so upset. He is such a sweet person. People are in so much pain. Health & love = happiness."

Meanwhile athlete Earvin tweeted: "What most people don't realize about Lamar Odom is that he's a better person than he is a basketball player."

The Kardashians initially went on a social media lockdown when Lamar was found unconscious.

Kendall Jenner, who has rushed back from Shanghai Fashion Week to be by Lamar's bedside , was the first to break the silence.

She simply wrote: "please don't go."

Meanwhile Kris Jenner, who was seen pacing outside the hospital , tweeted: "Please pray for Lamar #ourfighter."

As well, Rob Kardashian, who is known to shy away from social media, wrote: "Praying nonstop for my Brother!!"

Lamar is reportedly likely to have suffered 'brain damage' as a result of a 'loss of oxygen but also possible stroke', and doctors are treating the situation as a non-suicidal 'overdose'.

Meanwhile sources told TMZ that the NBA star suffered multiple strokes and has begun to suffer organ failure with just a 50/50 chance of survival.

Lamar's rep issued a statement saying: "Family and friends are extremely concerned for Lamar.

"Please don't listen to the false information being circulated unofficially. Please respect the family's privacy during this difficult time."
