A 35-year-old man, Kabir Tukur, was arrested by the Bauchi state police command for allegedly killing his 11-year-old nephew.
Mohammed Haruna, a police public relation officer of the state command, said the suspect lured his nephew into the bush and slaughterd him, Daily Independent reports.
“On Tuesday, October 13, at about 07:30am police detectives attached to Kirfi division arrested a male, Kabir Tukur, of Beni Town in Kirfi LGA of Bauchi state. The suspect lured son of his Junior brother, Auwalu Manu, 11, into the bush and slaughtered him,” Haruna said.
“The victim and suspect were rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi and the victim was certified death by a medical doctor while the suspect was admitted for medical attention,” he added.
Haruna said the police visited the scene of the crime and recovered a blood stained hand trowel as an exhibit. He also said the corpse was photographed and released to relatives for burial according to Islamic rites after Autopsy. The case was put under investigation.
