Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, at the weekend, threatened to revoke contracts awarded to most of the contractors in the state over their slowness in executing the projects. The governor who read a riot act to the contractors to wake up to government expectations in a statement by his Director, Bereau of Communication, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon and frowned at the slow pace of work, especially those handling some of the school building projects in the state. He quoted the governor to have said this at the Osogbo High school project, when he paid an unscheduled visit to the school to assess the progress of work.
“What I met here today was not impressive at all and I am disappointed in the snail pace of work on this site. “I have been coming here several times but met the work stagnant as no tangible progress could be said to have been made by the handlers of the school building.
“The site for foot-ball pitch has not been cleared. The administrative building has not been completed. The school structure remained stagnant. Infact, I am disappointed with everything here and this has been given me a sense of doubt on the quality of the work”.
