FIFA Appeal Committee chairman, Larry Mussenden has disclosed that the world football governing body have rejected appeals from suspended Sepp Blatter and Uefa chief Michel Platini over their provisional 90-day bans.
Both Platini and Blatter were banned in October by FIFA following an allegation of unethical payment and corruption, which has eaten deep into the roots of the organisation.
Blatter was also accused criminal mismanagement or misappropriation after signing a television deal with disgraced former Caribbean supremo Jack Warner as Platini’s Fifa president candidacy may not stand due to the ban.
Blatter and Platini have been informed of the decision of Fifa’s appeals committee, but both may now take their appeals to the Court of Arbitration for Sport should they wish.
Fifa have also confirmed that the provisional decision taken to ban the duo may still be confirmed, revoked or amended.
