Glo ‘Dance with Peter’ housemates get blank cheque

Contestants in the ongoing Dance with Peter TV reality show sponsored by Globacom will this weekend be free to present any dance routine of their choice in their bid to impress the show judges and audience and retain their slot in the academy. Unlike the past few weeks when the contestants were given specific themes to guide their presentations, they will this week have unlimited freedom to decide what to present, as the judges have tagged this week “Bring your own thing or go home.”

Five of the 12 remaining contestants are up for eviction this week, following their poor showing at the last episode, themed Afrobeat Challenge. Viewers will find out tonight at 7pm on Africa Magic Urban who among the housemates on eviction namely, Marion X, Nekky, Messiah, Teejay and Miracle will be sent packing.

For tonight’s show, the housemates were mentored by the judges, Peter Okoye of PSquare, dance choreographer, Don Flexx and dance queen, Kaffy. Team Peter has C-Fly, Da Octopus, Miracle and Teejay; Team Flexx comprises Marion X, Nekky, G-Extreme, Kelvin, T-Rubber while Team Kaffy has Messiah, Amazing Amy and Julius Faktah. Glo ambassador and Marvin Records protégé, Korede Bello, will feature as a guest judge on the show.

He says he simply wants to be entertained by the dancers. “I just want to see a great show and be entertained,” he declared. One of the judges, Don Flexx, is confident that his team will come out as the best at today’s challenge. “I feel my team members are the strongest in the show.

I’ve watched them grow in this show and they deserve to be in the finals,” he enthused. Also commenting, Wale Rubber, the dance director of the show, said that “Team Kaffy has the desire to succeed and win and they indeed have what it takes to win the competition. “ On his part, Peter Okoye believes his team has been exceptional.

“The audience can attest to the fact that my team members are exceptional. All I have to say to them is get out there and make it work.” Viewers will find out which of the dancers will prove their mentors right. Globacom urged viewers to tune in to the show on Africa Magic Urban on Saturday night and African Independent Television (AIT) on Sunday at 5p.m. to watch the show.

Those who miss the show can catch a repeat on MTV Base on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. And enthusiastic public can vote for their preferred contestant by sending his or her code to 55518 at the cost of N50 per SMS. Voting lines are open from 8p.m. on Saturday to 12 midnight on Monday.
