Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi says he does not have bad memories from Friday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Swaziland’s Shilangi Semnikati despite the ending in a 0-0 draw.
Nigeria dominated possession but failed to score but must now win on Tuesday to progress to the next round of qualifying for the finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Onazi, however, believes winning in Lobamba was always going to be complicated.
“I don’t have bad memories about the game because it was not an easy game.
“Like you can see, modern day football is different from what people think it was in previous years.
“When you are playing against a ‘smaller country’ and everyone is thinking you are going to beat them 5-0.
“Things have changed now because these countries now know so much about us and we don’t know about them.
The Super Eagles have home advantage in Tuesday’s return leg as they welcome the Shilangu to their fortress, Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Onazi says the three-time African champions will hold nothing back as they go for a win on Tuesday.
“We have no option but to win the game on Tuesday.
“That is the only thing we need to do if we want to play at the World Cup,” he said.
The 22-year-old Onazi has been capped 26 times by Nigeria at senior level.
