Soldiers still tackling FESTAC pipeline vandals

Reports have it that the operatives of the Lagos State security outfit, Op MESA, are continuing to engage the oil pipeline vandals operating around FESTAC area of the state with sporadic shooting still being heard.

The operation to checkmate the nefarious activities of the vandals in that area began on Tuesday.

According to reports a heavy detachment of soldiers is present at the 7th Avenue axis of FESTAC, where they have pinned down the vandals.

It has also been learnt that the officers and men of the Nigeria Police have also continued with their show of force in the area.

Since taking over government some six months ago, the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has insisted that it will have little tolerance for pipeline vandals, whose activities is severely affecting the economy.

Already troops have been drafted to Arepo in Ogun State, which is also notorious for the activities of pipeline vandals. Their presence has significantly curtailed the activities of the vandals.
