According to recent reports, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is not here for employees continually scratching out the rally cry ‘Black Lives Matter” and replacing it with the phrase with ‘All Lives Matter’ on the company’s famous signature wall.
In a private memo to employees, Mark called for respect and expressed that silencing the speech of others was unacceptable at Facebook’s Menlo Park, California office.
“Regardless of the content or location, crossing out something means silencing speech or that one person’s speech is more important than others,” Mark wrote in a post. “Facebook should be a service and a community where everyone is treated with respect.”
The relatively young CEO also educated his employees about the mission of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
“Black Lives Matter’ does not mean other lives don’t — it’s simply asking that the black community also achieves the justice they deserve,” Mark wrote.
