Ese Wanted To Be Medical Doctor – Class Teacher

As the abduction and eventual release of 14-year-old Ese Rita Oruru continue to generate ripples, the school mistress of the Bayelsa-born teenager at Central Epie Secondary School, Opolo, Yenagoa, Mrs. Arisou Douye Diriyai, has said that Ese was a brilliant student who aspired to be a medical doctor.

Speaking with New Telegraph on the school premises, Mrs. Diriyai said she wished that Ese return to school after her rehabilitation. The teacher added that the school authorities would ensure that she did not become an object of ridicule among her fellow students.

She said: “Ese is a very brilliant girl who usually stays in the classroom except during break time. She is a cool headed girl. She has two other friends and the three of them move together like triplets and they are very intelligent. “Ese wanted to be a medical doctor because she was in science class.

If Ese is not on break, she is doing her assignment with her classmates. She was so disciplined in the school and I believe she will equally be like that in the house. I have never called her into this staff room for any questioning or for wrong doing, and that is to show you the kind of person she is.” On her part, Ese’s best friend, Ikaye Esther, said she was a kind and friendly girl.

According to her, she freely shares her things with others. She said: “Our last meeting was when she came to visit me before our JSS3 examinations before her abduction. But I have forgotten all that we discussed. We used to drag second position because we were all in the science class.” On a visit to the residence of the Orurus at Opolo, Yenagoa.
