The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ebonyi sector command, Mr. Charles Aborchi has enjoined motorists in the state to avoid night travels to reduce auto crash in the state. He said most accidents recorded in the country occurred during night travels.
Speaking during intensive road safety campaign across the state yesterday, Aborchi charged motorists to avoid drinking and driving, avoid the use of worn -out tyres, overloading and over speeding while on the road especially on highways.
Earlier, the state coordinator, Special Marshals of the Corps Dr. Henry Urochukwu, stated that the exercise was a regular patrol embarked upon by the Special Marshals in the state. He noted that the Special Marshals were also involved in public enlightenment at different locations across the state to charge drivers to avoid over speeding during the Easter season.
The Special Marshals during the campaign visited schools, churches and parks to educate road users including motorists on the best safety measures to adopt in order to avoid road crashes.
