11 Govs To Grace Fayose’s 25 ‘Legacy Projects’ Inauguration

A total of 11 governors of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-controlled states are expected to attend a thanksgiving service in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital in today, in honour of the Taraba State Governor, Mr. Darius Ishaku for his electoral victory at the Supreme Court earlier in the year.

The governors included Hon. Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom); Hon. Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa); Dr Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Alhaji Ibrahim Dakwambo (Gombe); Hon David Umahi (Ebonyin); Dr Ifeayi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Senator Ifeayi Okowa (Delta); Dr. Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo); Chief Nyeson Wike (Rivers); Arc Darius Ishaku (Taraba); and Senator Ben Ayade (Cross Rivers).

Thee governors are also to witness the inauguration of the 25 ‘Legacy Projects’ of Governor Ayodele Fayose, in Ado-Ekiti.

The projects include: the Women Development Centre named after the late deputy governor of the state under former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Mrs Adunni Olayinka; 6.2km De-Head-Adetiloye Road executed at the cost of N782,021,436, the N488,199,974 800-metre dualised Awedele-Secretariat Road and the N212.1m Ewi of Ado Ekiti Palace gallery.

The state Commissioner for Information Lanre Ogunsuyi, explained that the Adunni Olayinka Women Centre, was undertaken through donations from corporate organisations and friends of the governor.

Meanwhile, the state government also cleared doubts regarding the possibility of settling more arrears of salaries of civil and public servants in Ekiti State, stating the FG’s announcement on the stoppage of deductions from states allocations concerned only the bailout and not the entire sum owed FG by the state. Ekiti presently owes workers four months’ salaries from January to date and leave bonus from 2014.
