Super Eagles and Manchester City kid sensation has said Manchester City must defeat Real Madrid in Tuesday’s first leg semifinal of the UEFA Champions League at the Etihad to give them the best chance of progressing in next week’s return at the Bernabeu.
Iheancho who scored two goals and won a penalty in Manchester City’s 4-0 win over Stoke on Saturday said it would be a tough game against the Spanish giants. “We really need to win here because at their home, it’s not going to be an easy game,” he said. “So we need to show character and work hard and make sure we get the win.
“We really need to go forward and get to the final. It will be a dream when we get to the final so we’re really hoping for that.” The teenage striker has scored 11 goals from 15 shots on target in his debut campaign and would love to line up against Cristiano Ronaldo and other Real Madrid top stars.
“I do dream about that because they are such a great team,” he said. “It would be a dream come true to play against them. “Ronaldo and Messi are the greatest players on the planet so I think playing against one of them is a big thing for anyone so it would be a big thing to me if I play on Tuesday.”
