The Department of State Services (DSS) yesterday, presented before journalists one Bello Danhajiya, whom it said was the second-incommand to a leader of Boko Haram, Khalid Al- Barnawi, who has since been taken into custody.
Addressing journalists at the secret services’ headquarters, Mr. Garba Abdullahi, who stood in for Mr. Tony Opuiyo, said “Preliminary investigations have disclosed his (Danhajiya’s) involvement in gun-running, cattle rustling and other nefarious criminal activities principally on the directives of his commander.”
The service also presented Aminu Ado, David Ali, Michika Umar Hamza, James Malu Akune, and Kazeem Kayode Usman. Ado, who was arrested on March, 24 at Keffi, Nasarawa State, was said to have confessed to defrauding Lt. Gen T.Y. Danjuma (Rtd) of N1m in 2015, as well as wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor of N300, 000.
He was said to have collaborated with one Hajia Aisha, “who impersonated the wife of former Gombe State Governor, Danjuma Goje. The DSS said “he confessed to defrauding members of the public by claiming to be the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the President.”
It said: “Further investigation revealed that Ado had the mobile phone numbers of all the Federal Executive Council (FEC) members, some State Governors, their wives and Aides as well as that of prominent Nigerians and Military/Police Officers.”
