At least four persons were feared to have been killed over the weekend in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as a supremacy battled reportedly between members of two rival cult groups worsened.
The development occurred a few days after an irate mob lynched a suspect, identified as Kunle Poly and whom the police claimed was fingered in a cult killing last week. He was found with eight goats in his car.
Last week Sunday, suspected cultists had struck at Ikokoro/Sakamo area of Ilorin and killed a boy simply identified as Wasiu.
The latest clash occurred at Babako, Ita-Amodu and Agbo-Oba areas of Ilorin metropolis between Saturday night and 4 a.m on Sunday morning according to residents who expressed fears that the situation was getting out of hand as the development has created tension in the affected areas while residents scampered for safety.
