Two gardeners working on the scenic garden along the popular Third Mainland Bridge were yesterday hit by a tanker. The gardeners, who were trimming the flower before the accident, were unconscious when they were taken to the nearby hospital.
The accident occurred at the Ogudu end of 3rd Mainland Bridge near Iyana Oworo. Motorists, who witnessed the accident, said the tanker had a brake failure. But speaking with our correspondent, the General Manager, Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), Mrs. Abimbola Jijoho-Ogun, said the two gardeners survived the accident.
She said: “It true, we thank God both of them are now responding to treatment.” Meanwhile, the tanker driver has been arrested by the police.
