21-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide

Homicide detectives of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Lagos Police Command are investigating the circumstances which led a 21-yearold man to commit suicide.

The deceased, Tope Diya, allegedly committed suicide yesterday morning at the Agege area of the metropolis.

Diya used a cloth to hang himself to an aluminum frame at his working place on Olayiwola Street, Oko- Oba. The reason Diya killed himself was not known at press time, but he was found by his brother, Sule Wasiu.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police, said: “The command is investigating a case of suicide of Tope Diya of no 5 Ademolu Street, Oko- Oba, aged 21 years.

“It was reported by his brother, Wasiu, that he committed suicide by using a cloth to hang himself to an aluminum frame in his working place at Olayiwola Street, Oko-Oba. “He was found dead about 7am. The command operatives from Oko-Oba visited the scene and photographs were taken and the corpse removed to mortuary for autopsy. Case is still under discreet investigation.”
