Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have interrogated a former Minister of Mines and Steel, Mr. Musa Muhammad Sada, as well as ex-Minister of State for Agriculture, Asabe Asmau Ahmed, over their alleged involvements in the sharing of $115 million campaign funds.
The EFCC is investigating the discovery that $115 million dollars was lodged in a bank by a former minister, ostensibly to compromise some state officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Before the interrogation of Sada and Ahmed, the Commission had quizzed a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, who was alleged to have received N950 million, and a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nurudeen Muhammad, who allegedly got N500 million.
However, the EFCC, in a statement by its Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said in the course of ongoing investigations, Sada allegedly confessed that he received instruction from the former Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema, to collect N700 million on his (Shema’s) behalf, and drop same with his former Commissioner of Finance.
