Another Nigerian Star Is Dead

Another shocking news has greeted us again! It is sad to announced that the goalkeeper of Giwa FC Timothy Chichi Okere is dead. He died on Wednesday in Jos. Okere died after a prolonged battle with a spinal cord injury.

Okere had sustained the spinal cord injury two years ago. He was first admitted into Bida hospital. He was later discharged when he improved but later admitted after he relapsed

Okere was among the players who helped Giwa FC gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League three years ago. He lost his spot to Flying Eagles goaltender Ojo Olorunleke at the commencement of Giwa FC’s season in the NPFL.

David King, the Media Officer of the team confirmed his death incident this morning and also revealed that Giwa FC was awaiting communication from the family of Okere on the burial arrangements.

It is a sad moment for the Nigerian footballers and his family.
