Deji Recants On Akure For Governor Agenda

The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi has backed out of the demand that an indegene of the town should be governor after the tenure of the incumbent, Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

The monarch, who has been at the forefront of those agitating for an Akure indegene to produce the governor, has now thrown his weight behind any candidate from any zone that can continue what he described as the good works of the incumbent governor of the state.

The monarch spoke at his palace while playing host to Chief Sola Ebiseni, the Commissioner for Environment and a leading contender for the Governorship ticket under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ebiseni had led the monthly Environmental Sanitation monitoring team to the monarch’s palace to solicit his support to help sustain Akure’s status as ‘the cleanest state capital in the country.

The monarch said when he was informed of Ebiseni’s visit, he thought he was coming as a governorship candidate but was surprised he came for environmental issues.
