Expose Sponsors Of Armed Herdsmen, Catholic Bishop Tells Security Sgencies

The Catholic ‎Bishop of Abeokuta, Most Revd Peter Odetoyinbo, Sunday urged security agencies to expose and prosecute the sponsors of armed Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria.

The cleric, who bemoaned the frequent attacks on farmers and destruction of their farmlands by suspected Fulani herdsmen, said law enforcement agencies must be alive to their responsibilities.
Odetoyinbo spoke during an interactive session with journalists at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cathedral, Abeokuta, Ogun State to mark the 50th anniversary of World Communications Day.
According to him, some highly placed Nigerians know the sponsors and masterminds of killer herders but refused to reveal their identities.
He said it was imperative to curb mindless killings and wanton destruction of property in the country, stressing that Nigerians must always promote justice, fairness and truth.
