Head of the Seriki Line in the Olubadan chieftaincy title, Chief Adebayo Oyediji, Thursday flayed the Oyo State government and Governor Abiola Ajimobi for approving the installation of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji against the pendency of a suit he had filed before an Oyo State High Court.
Chief Oyediji, according to an appointment entitled: “Chieftaincy Appointment: Chiefs Law Cap 19 from the then Olubadan Oba Giada most Akanbi Adebimpe 1, letter dated 20th May, 1976, was promoted from “Mogaji Ile Eshubiyi to Ekefa Seriki with effect from 10th May, 1976”.
The Seriki Head, whose case is still pending in court against the installation on February 12 of the incumbent Olubadan, alleged that Governor Ajimobi and the state government credit illegally and committed contempt of court by installing Oba Adetunji.
“The governor acted against pending injunctions; he acted in contempt of court order when judgment had not been delivered on the case I filed before Justice Muktar Abimbola of the High Court 1, Ring Road, Ibadan.
“As a man of peace who abhors violence, I will continue to explore all legal means to ensure that Governor Ajimobi reverses the installation of Adetunji because I am the one to have been installed as the 41st Olubadan,” Chief Oyediji stressed.
