IPMAN Welcomes Removal Of Fuel Subsidy

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Wednesday welcomed the removal of fuel subsidy.
The Association, however, kicked against the fixing of price of petroleum by the Federal Government.
According the factional Vice President of IPMAN, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi, the fixing of price by government is still a stumbling block in the sector.

He stated that the only thing that can bring stability in the sector is full deregulation of the sector.
He said: “If government didn’t fix price of N145, some persons can sell for N130, N140, N150 or any amount and this will attract the expected investors into the sector.
“Now government is still fixing the price, what it means that they are still regulating the sector and it afferct investors interest. Investors like to operate in an open market that is not regulated”.
