In case you haven't already watched the whole thing on repeat yet, Beyoncé's visual album,Lemonade, is all about dealing with infidelity in a marriage. With lyrics like, "You ain't married to no average bitch, boy," it seems pretty clear that Bey is talking about a rocky patch in her marriage to Jay Z. He even shows up at the end of the album as she sings about patching things up.
So if you believe a new report, Jay Z is working on releasing a Lemonade of his own. "Jay is working on an album telling his side of things," a source told Us Weekly. Obviously, this is just a rumor and might not be the real deal, but it makes sense: Beyoncé and Jay Z are nothing if not savvy businesspeople, so why not monetize both sides of a messy personal moment instead of just one?
Although Jay Z is undoubtedly a huge talent, it seems unlikely he could pull of a visual album along the same lines as Queen Bey. A response album would definitely be fascinating, but chances are it would pale in comparison to the force that is Lemonade. Perhaps he'd be better off just sticking to the approximately 1 million businesses he runs instead — and, you know, spending quality time with Beyoncé and Blue Ivy too.
