A man in Nduruku Amegu community in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Maduabuchi Ede has been arrested by the state Police command for beating his in-law, Kenneth Nkwegu Elom to death.
Kenneth and his wife, Scholastica, had been married for over eight years and the union produced four children when it collapsed irretrievably.
Scholastica therefore returned to her parents in the nearby village and began to harvest her estranged husband’s yams in the ban and other crops in his farm which did not go down well with the man.
To this, the husband Kenneth in company of his friend Augustine Nwankwegu complained severally to his ex-wife’s parents and family to warn her to desist from such. The family was said to have assured Kenneth that Scholastica will be called to order.
But the woman continued harvesting his crops and taking away some of his belongings.
