Passports: No More Complaints – Minister Tells CG NIS



The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulraham Dambazua (rtd) Wednesday charged the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Mohammed Babandede, to end complaints concerning the issuance of International Passports to Nigerians.


The Minister gave the charge at the headquarters of the Ministry in Abuja, while decorating the New Comptroller General of Immigration.
Also, the Minister told the Controller General of Nigeria Prisons Service, Mr. Ja’afaru Ahmed, who was also decorated, to add value to the Prison Service.
The Minister explained that their appointments were based on merit as they were screened along other officers.
Addressing the audience before decorating the CGs, Dambazua said: “We are here to decorate the Comptroller Generals of Immigration and Prisons respectively.
“These appointments were approved by Mr. President after going through rigorous selection which opportunities were opened to quite a number of very senior officers and of course these appointments are trust from the Nigerian public to you. You are now going to be in the public eyes, the expectation is very high. Do not look at this as personal, you are hear to serve the public on whose tax you survive, therefore l want to urge you that immediate, after your decoration go and setting down and hit the ground running.”
