The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) attacked a Chevron oil facility, the Nigerian militant group said on Twitter on Wednesday.
“NDA blew up Chevron oil well RMP 23 and 24 3:44 am this morning,” the group said, without giving details, reports Reuters.
If confirmed, the latest attack is coming despite massive deployment of the military to the area in an effort to put a lid on the crisis.
Only Tuesday the Nigeria military announced that it had deployed airforce jets, gun boats and more soldiers in a bid to curtail the activities of the militants, whose attacks on oil installations was adversely affecting the economy.
