Peace Corps Of Nigeria Paid Fine For 40 Inmates - Photos

Monday, 4th July, 2016 was a memorable day for the inmates of Suleja Prisons in Niger State as Officers of Peace Corps of Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the prison yard. The courtesy visit was led by the National Commandant, Amb. (Dr) Dickson A. O. Akoh, FCITr, FCPA.

The National Commandant in his magnanimity and gesture, presented food items such as; bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil and a cow, to mention a few. These items were presented through the Deputy Comptroller in Charge of Suleja Prisons, Ibrahim Usman, to the inmates, as part of contributions to the Ramadan celebration while also paying fines to facilitate the release of forty (40) inmates after fulfilling all legal proceedings.

The Prison Officials and the released inmates expressed their profound gratitude to the National Commandant and entire Officers of Peace Corps of Nigeria for the compassion and love in the act leading to their release at such time when all hope seems lost. As a means of empowering the released inmates, the National Commandant also gave them the opportunity to build a life and career through the Peace Corps of Nigeria Alternative Employment Scheme.
