A little over a decade ago, a song titled “Rugged Baba” was released and it shook the industry. Then, Ruggedman, who had caught the attention of the industry with a number of singles including “Ehen” featuring now late Nomoreloss and the followup, “Peace of War” was looking at establishing himself fully.
In the process, he introduced 9ice to the world after the latter had been underground and released a couple of songs himself including one featuring rapper, 2shotz. But a few years down the line, with 9ice at the peak of his career, the two friends would part following a misunderstanding caused by a song released by 9ice titled “Once Beaten Twice Shy.”
With rumours of infidelity frailing at the wife of the singer, the song added vent to it and the name of Ruggedman, who had introduced 9ice to his then wife, Toni Payne, was widely mentioned. It was such a messy affair that eventually crashed 9ice and Toni Payne’s union while both 9ice and Ruggedman released songs respectively titled “Talk I am Listening” and “A Word Is Enough For The 9ice,” dissing each other as time went on.
It is 2016 and without warning, the former adversaries have a new song together, once more initiated by Ruggedman which shows they have put the past behind them six years after the rift that no one thought would end in many years.
Although this did not come without 9ice finally making it clear to everyone that Ruggedman had nothing to do with his issues with his former wife and mother of his son, Zion. In the process, the ‘Gongo Aso’ singer also clarified that his former wife never cheated on him.
With both stars not even close to commanding the attention they used to garner with ease despite many efforts, many are open to the new song titled “Religion”.
