Police in Lagos have arrested five apprentices for allegedly stealing pharmaceutical products worth N56 million at Peakins Pharmaceutical Company in Lekki. The suspects, Emmanuel Okechukwu, Ikechukwu Orji, Chisom Azubuke, Uchechukwu Ofoepeka and Goddy Ogobi, were arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of Zone 2 Command at Mobolaji Johnson Estate, Lekki Phase 2.
The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO) SP Muyiwa Adejobi, said on October 10, Mr. Isaac Ugwu, the chief executive officer of the pharmaceutical company, reported an alleged case of conspiracy and stealing of some products through a petition to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) office.
The petitioner, according to Adejobi, said in October, he caught one of his staff, Emmanuel Okechukwu, with a carton of Funbact A worth about N400,000 which was stolen from his warehouse.
