The Ogun State Police Command Tuesday said its men have arrested the suspected leader of a kidnapping gang, Wale Ogunbadejo, in Ijebu-Ode area of the state.
The suspect was nabbed in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old boy, Attairu Amisu, who is a pupil of Abdul Rahman Academy, Sabo, Obalende, Ijebu-Ode.
‘New Telegraph’ learnt that the boy was kidnapped from his school on October 18 after one of the gang members allegedly pretended to be acting under his parent’s instruction.
The gang later called the parent of the boy as well as the school authorities to demand for N5million ransom.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, said the victim had been reunited with his family.
