Married Baptist teacher exposed by Ashley Madison hack takes own life

So tragic. A New Orleans pastor has taken his own life after his name was discovered among the 32 million released in the Ashley Madison hack last month. John Gibson reportedly feared losing his job if he was discovered as a user of the spousal cheating site.

John Gibson, 56, a pastor and teacher at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, was found dead by his wife after his name was one of the 32 million released during the cyber hack of the cheating website AshleyMadison.com. The married father of two took his own life on Aug. 24, a month after names were released in the notorious hack attack.
John’s wife, Christi Gibson, discovered his body when she came home from work around 5:30pm, as well as a suicide note he had written to explain his actions. According to the note, John was worried he would lose his job and was “very sorry.” John was a beloved member of his family and community, who was highly regarded by his colleagues. “John was a popular member of our Leavell College faculty,” Seminary President Chuck Kelley said on their website. “He was particularly known for his acts of kindness to the seminary family. John was the quintessential good neighbor. Christi also spoke out about her husband’s tragic death. “It wasn’t so bad that we wouldn’t have forgiven it, and so many people have said that to us, but for John, it carried such a shame,” Christi told CNN Money.

Sadly, John’s death is just another in a series of suicides that have been attributed to the hack attack. The Ashley Madison attack has ensnared a number of prominent celebrities, most famously Josh Duggar, 27, the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Dugar. Josh allegedly had two accounts on the spousal cheating website and was looking to find a partner for the following: “Conventional Sex,” Experimenting with Sex Toys,” One-Night Stands,” “Open to Experimentation,” “Gentleness,” “Good With Your Hands,” Sensual Massage,” “Extended Foreplay/Teasing,” “Bubble Bath for 2,” “Sharing Fantasies,” and “Sex Talk,” among other things, according to data obtained by Gawker. In a written statement, Josh, who is married and a conservative political activist, called himself “the biggest hypocrite ever” and blamed his cheating on a pornography addiction.
